The facility, located in Korat, (Nakhon Ratchasima) is billed as an amusement park as well as a temple. I traveled by auto from my home in rural Nakhon Nayok to the location of the temple in Korat.
Traveling the highways of Thailand can be quite ordinary or they can be a visual treat.
The amusement park has been billed by some as a vision of heaven and hell. I would think a more traditional Buddhist explanation would be a visualization of karma. What can happen to a person if they do evil or good. It also reminds me of paintings I have seen depicting the 14th-century poet Dante Alighieri’s “The Devine Comedy” written about the concept of “Inferno, Purgatorio, and Paradiso”. The park also includes many scenes of everyday life in the rural areas of Thailand.
Without further comment below are images from my trip to the bizarre yet interesting, Wat Pa Lak Roi Temple Amusement Park.
