May 30, 2020 –
One of the casualties of COVID-19 here in rural Thailand was the Buddhist monks unable to walk for morning alms. Thailand declared a national emergency, issued shelter in place orders and forbid all non essential travel. So for the last two months there were no monks leaving the temple to do their daily walk for alms.
I looked down the path leading out to the main road early this morning and saw three monks walking and collecting alms. So, quick like a bunny rabbit I grabbed my Leica and ran to the main road. I was only able to make a couple of quick photos, but the light was nothing short of fantastic after an all night rain and the heavy cloud cover early this morning.
So that’s it for the morning shots, a good way to start the day.
